It is better to be a poor man with the Lord than a rich man without the Lord. This becomes especially apparent when we are facing trials.
For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits. (James 1:11)
Notice when the rich man fades away – in the midst of his pursuits. We get busy in life earning a living, raising a family, and following our dreams. Then trials come along and interrupt our plans. Money can buy a lot of things, but it cannot solve all our problems. Even the wealthiest people will reach a point in life where their health starts to fail, and they decline from where they used to be.
So where is the good news in all of this? It is in knowing that our trust in not in money, but in the Lord.
Today’s Good News is that if you have Jesus, that is better than having all the wealth in the world.
Now, go share the Good News…
