The Roman Road

May 5, 2018

Road Trip!  Now that the weather is getting warmer, we are entering the season of day trips.  Do you ever get in the car and drive, not knowing where you’re going?  That can be fun if you’re just out for a Sunday drive, but if you’re trying to reach a particular destination, you want to know what road to take.

When we are sharing our faith, it helps to have a plan – (like a roadmap) - so that we lead people to the proper destination.  Many Christians like to use what we call “The Roman Road.”  It is a series of verses from the Book of Romans that outlines a presentation of the Gospel.  There are different variations, one of which is given here.

If you are a Christian, you may want to memorize these references, so that you can take your friends and family on this Gospel road trip.  If you are not yet saved, I encourage you to read these verses, and reflect on what they have to say for your life…

Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 5:8 “but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 10:9 “… if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:13 “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Today’s Good News is that salvation is a free gift for all who accept it from Jesus.

Now, go share the Good News…
