If you are reading this it is not an accident, and it is not a coincidence. I believe God led you to read this today, just like I believe He led me to write it.
In the last couple of days I have felt a sense of urgency to write a note of encouragement to people who are going through a rough time. You may be suffering in silence, keeping your pain a secret even from your family and friends. Things may have gotten so bad that you’re wondering if your life is worth living. I have three words for you: DON’T GIVE UP! I also have three reasons for saying that to you:
(1) You are not alone. Many people pretend to be okay when they're not. So when we’re suffering, it feels like we are suffering alone because it looks to us like everyone else has it all together. There are likely millions of people who are facing challenges similar to yours. Some of them may be closer to you than you realize.
(2) You are loved. You have people who care about you and want you here. What’s more, Jesus loves you and wants you here. He placed you here for such a time as this, and He has an important purpose for your life. He loves you so much that He died on the Cross to pay for your sins, and He rose again to be your Saviour, if you will accept Him and trust Him with your life.
(3) You have hope. We are not promised an easy road on this side of Heaven, but Jesus promises to be with us every step of the way. He will give us the strength we need for each day. Even if your problems were caused by poor choices you made, you are not broken beyond repair. He can give you a fresh start and make something beautiful out of your life. Here are some Scriptures to encourage you…
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3 ESV)
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. (Romans 8:18 ESV)
Today’s Good News is that you are not alone, you are loved, and you have hope. Lean on Jesus, and He will help you live one day at a time. Start by getting through this next minute. You have a lot to look forward to. Your future with Jesus is bright.
Now, go share the Good News…
