Share the Good News!

Jesus said, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation” (Mark 16:15).  The Gospel is the Good News about Jesus.  The Good News is that we can be saved by God’s grace through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Bible says that we all have sinned, and have fallen short of God’s perfect standard for entry into Heaven (Romans 3:23).  God loves us and wants to share Heaven with us, but if we take our sin there, Heaven will no longer be perfect.

What a dilemma our sin has caused!  As a loving Father, God wants to have a relationship with us, but as a righteous Judge, He must deal justly with lawbreakers.  How is He going to handle this one?

Like the Creator He is, God has designed a plan that displays His love for us, and satisfies His need for justice at the same time.  God took on flesh, and became a Man in the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ.  Being fully God and fully Man, Jesus lived a perfect life to satisfy the Law on our behalf.  After being falsely accused, He was executed on a Cross to pay the penalty for sin on our behalf.  On the third day He rose again, proving He is Lord, and gaining victory over sin and death.

The Apostle Paul wrote, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).  God’s justice and mercy came together at the Cross.  He poured out His judgment and wrath on Jesus, so that He could pour out His grace, love and mercy on us.  Paul says that “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).  Salvation is a free gift, but we must decide whether or not to accept it.  Someone has to pay the penalty for our sin.  We can pay it ourselves in Hell for all eternity, or we can let Jesus pay it for us.

The Good News is that Jesus loves you so much that He died on the Cross for your sins.  If you confess your sin and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, you will be forgiven.  Your record will be wiped clean, as if you never sinned.  You will have a Home in Heaven, where you’ll live forever with the Saviour who gave His all to be with you.

Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

This is the Good News about Jesus, and this Gospel has been entrusted to those of us who have called upon His name.  It is our privilege as Christians to tell the world about Jesus.  Paul sums up our mission in 2 Corinthians 5:20 where he says “we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us.  We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”

It is our prayer that this website will help the Church to share the Good News.  As you share the good news events going on in your churches, your goal should not just be to fill more seats.  Your goal should be to help people be reconciled to God.  Through this “Today's Good News” devotional blog, I look forward to encouraging you in your role as Jesus’ ambassadors.

As I close this first entry, I have a question for each person reading this:  If you died today, do you know for sure that you would go to Heaven?  The Good News is that you can be sure, not because of your goodness, but because of Jesus’ goodness.  If you’d like to accept Him as your Saviour, please pray with me:

Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sin.  I believe You are the perfect Son of God, who died on the Cross and rose again.  Please forgive me, and come into my life as my Lord and Saviour.  Help me to follow You, and to get to know You better.  Thank You for loving me and giving me eternal life.  I look forward to being with You forever.  Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, please don’t keep it a secret.  Tell your family and friends.  Share it with the world.  Feel free to email us at

Welcome to the Family of God!  You are now one of the King’s Kids.  You are now His ambassador.
